The RoleAn exceptional opportunity has opened for a seasoned Power Systems Engineer to step into a Principal-level role, leading a dynamic team of 6–7 engineers within a fast-growing specialist consultancy based in Brisbane.This is more than just another engineering role — it's a pivotal leadership position in a company that's grown from 3 to nearly 170 people, built on a reputation for deep technical expertise and end-to-end delivery across the full grid connection and EPC lifecycle.
With around 50 professionals in the Power Systems division alone, the scale and complexity of projects are second to none — and your team will be central to driving this next chapter.Key experienceThe successful candidate will act as technical lead on complex projects, own the client relationship, and guide a team delivering full Generator Performance Standards (GPS) studies — including R0 and R1 submissions — for utility-scale renewable and grid-connected developments.Proficiency in PSS/E and PSCAD is essentialCommunicating and liaising with NSPs and AMEOManage the enquiry, application, registration, and/or design phases for both large energy user and/or renewable energy projects (e.g., HV Grid Connections, substation design, generating plant power system)This is a rare opportunity to lead one of three core teams in Brisbane, reporting to the Engineering Group Manager and working closely with a newly appointed GM of Engineering who's driving an exciting internal restructure.

The role offers a total remuneration package of $200,000–$270,000 (negotiable for the right person), with an additional discretionary bonus.Flexibility to work from home, with minimum 2 days in the office per week.Relocation support can be discussed for interstate candidates looking to make a meaningful career move.This position would suit someone already operating at the Principal level or a proven Senior Engineer ready for the step up.
