The Opportunity
We are seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our team in Melbourne on a full-time & part-time basis, providing vital procurement and logistics support within the Land Systems Division.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes in line with Commonwealth and Defence procurement policies.
- Support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases and international sourcing requirements.
- Engage with OEMs, local industry partners and global suppliers to ensure the delivery of equipment, parts and services that support AFV programs.
- Procure and track items such as vehicle protection systems, electronic components, mobility subsystems, repair parts, consumables and specialist test equipment.
- Contribute to logistics and ILS activities, supporting schedule alignment, budget tracking and supplier performance management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply.
As The Ideal Candidate You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ procurement experience, ideally within Defence or a highly regulated sector.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Defence procurement frameworks, FMS processes and international trade compliance.
- Strong negotiation, analytical and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
