Site Engineer – Major Infrastructure (FRP)
The Opportunity: Randstad Melbourne is partnered with a busy contractor delivering a major FRP package to a Tier 1 consortium on the North East Link Project. The role suits a Site Engineer with key experience delivering big‐build concrete structures packages at least $15 million+.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be the site point of contact to ensure smooth progress through various stages of construction. Your core duties include:
* Support all quality reviews and compliance, conducting ITPs (pre‐pour, during pour, post‐pour) & NCRs.
* Monitor progress of works and support the PM to track costs.
* Attend daily toolbox meetings with Tier 1 representatives to coordinate shared site resources such as tower cranes and site access ramps.
* Write and enforce Safe Work Method Statements specifically for high‐risk FRP activities.
* Measure the volume of work done (e.g., tonnes of steel fixed, m3 of concrete poured) to ensure the sub‐contractor gets paid correctly.
* Manage site layouts so that people are not working directly under active concrete buckets or rebar lifts.
* Administer project documentation, including progress reports and cost tracking.
* Proactively identify risk and solve challenges that arise on site.
