Role Overview
As a senior member of Fyfe's Project Delivery team, the Project Controls Lead is responsible for implementing best-practice project controls across diverse projects in oil and gas, infrastructure, and mining sectors. The role involves establishing systems for cost, schedule, and risk management, and supporting forecasting, reporting, and variation management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and improve project controls frameworks for cost, schedule, and performance.
2. Create and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
3. Manage cost control systems, budgets, commitments, actuals, forecasts, and earned value metrics.
4. Extract and analyze performance data to generate control metrics.
5. Review timesheets, identify trends, and optimize resource utilization.
6. Prepare monthly cost forecasts, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
7. Support contract variation processes with cost and schedule justifications.
8. Track scope changes and update project baselines accordingly.
9. Generate reports and dashboards with Power BI, Excel, and internal systems.
10. Lead project review cycles, including schedule updates and variance analysis.
11. Drive continuous improvement in project controls tools and procedures.
12. Mentor team members and support professional development.
13. Assist with bid support, including cost breakdowns and planning.
Skills & Experience
* 8+ years in project controls within engineering, EPCM, or consultancy environments.
* Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, and Excel.
* Understanding of change control and contractual variation processes.
* Experience with cost and schedule forecasting and reporting.
* Knowledge of resource-based pricing, SoRs, and FP contracts.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience with client governance frameworks (e.g., Santos, BHP) is preferred.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
* PMI, PMP, or equivalent certification preferred.
