**Position Overview**
The Training Officer is a part of the Court's operational structure with responsibility nationally for assisting with coordination of the design, development, delivery and maintenance of learning and training across Court's and Tribunal Services (CTS) within the courts. This role sits within the Knowledge and Training team and reports to the Training Team Leader. The Knowledge and Training team sit within the Courts and Tribunal Services which operates across both general federal law and family law jurisdictions and practice areas.
The role has a focus on the development and delivery of a national training and development program covering operational process and procedure of CTS and the creation of related content.
The Training Officer is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs within the organisation. They ensure that employees have the necessary skills and continue to build on their knowledge to perform their jobs effectively and support the overall strategic goals of the organisation.
Formal qualifications or experience covering the design, delivery and maintenance of learning programs with a focus on adult learning and training would be advantageous.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties** 
Under the direction of Training Team Leader:
- Assist in conducting training needs analyses to determine current skill gaps and future training requirements within the Court and Tribunal Services. 
- Contribute to the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs that address identified needs and align with organisational objectives including creating appropriate training materials, manuals, e-learning modules, and presentations. 
- Create and update training materials and SharePoint content. 
- Develop and administer assessments to measure training effectiveness and employee learning and provide reports on outcomes to senior management. 
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant attendance, and assessment results and coordinate training schedules in consultation with managers and team leaders. 
- Ensure training programs are accessible, inclusive and contribute towards fostering a culture of continuous and innovative learning and development within the organisation. 
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of training and development sessions. Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for awareness-raising and training presentations within their existing programs. 
- Support the development of training modules and presentations that build the capability, knowledge and skills of staff to enhance staff ability to deliver high quality customer service.
**Selection Criteria** 
- Understanding of the functions of the Courts including relevant legislation, policy, case management systems and business processes and where the training officer role fits within this structure; or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge. 
- Experience in adult learning and the design, development, and delivery of training across a variety of fora including face-to-face and fact-to-screen. 
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to facilitate group discussions and to gather and collate information to identify skill gaps and to distil this into a formal training program. 
- Strong presentation skills and attention to detail to develop professional training programs and materials and to deliver training to a consistently high standard. 
- An ability to identify through data analysis and feedback where improvements and enhancements to training programs and materials are required. 
- High level administrative and coordination skills including an ability to maintain accurate records, coordinate schedules and maintain currency of training materials.
**Desirable**: Qualification in Education and Workplace Training and Assessment or relevant related work experience.
