**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**: As a part of your role, you will contribute to the delivery of financial and business performance analytics and reporting. Support the provision of commercial insight and strategic financial advice to key stakeholders to facilitate operational and strategic decision making including the provision of regular management reporting and forecasting.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Conduct financial planning and analysis activities including the development of consolidated financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for revenue, opex, and capex across the organisation and business groups.
- Produce analysis of organisational and business group performance including providing insight into key variances, deviations from plan, and trends to inform future forecasts, identify potential risks and opportunities, and understand the impact on resource and funding allocations.
- Collate and quality assure financial data for IPART and other external reporting purposes including Annual Information Returns, Special Information Returns, WSAA benchmarking, National Water Initiative/NPR benchmarking, and ABS surveys.
- Determine and articulate key business drivers and provision of critical insights and value-adding analysis to support the Executive Team and General Managers.
- Leverage commercial knowledge and insights to provide support as required to the Corporations strategic planning activities including the optimisation of resources and funding.
- Prepare summaries and work papers to enable SCI/forecast reporting in the NSW Treasury reporting system.
- Prepare financial data and analysis for business cases and support the identification and measurement of benefits.
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:
- Relevant degree qualification (e.g. Economics, Business, Accounting) or experience deemed equivalent.
- Professional Accounting Qualification (CA/CPA) (or studying towards).
- Extensive knowledge of financial systems, data, and analytics.
- Standardises format and methods of data capture to expand the usability of information and monitors and assesses data governance and policies.
- Applies the organisation's costing model framework, cost allocation rules and methodologies, and governance arrangements in day-to-day activities supporting business operations.
- Gathers financial and non-financial data to act as the starting point for the investment evaluation process.
- 7+ years of experience working in finance in a large complex organisation, preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector (i.e., asset-intensive and/or regulated).
- Demonstrated experience in financial/commercial analysis, modelling, and reporting.
