The Mental Health Service (MHS) Patient Safety Manager will: Engage in and support the MHS business strategy and development of local operating plans relevant to patient safety systems and processes. Provide leadership, coordinate the implementation of patient safety systems and promote a culture of safety across all of the MHS. Undertake review and analysis of the MHS patient safety performance trends from incident management, and performance data to develop proactive systems to improve patient outcomes. Support the MHS Executive and work in collaboration with Operations Managers, Clinicians, Director of Nursing and Quality Manager to promote and improve patient safety and contribute to enhanced quality of clinical care. Liaise with the District Clinical Governance Unit and Executive Director Clinical Governance to ensure State and District Safety and Quality Frameworks and Patient Safety Programs are implemented within the MHS. Promote the principle that patient safety is the responsibility of all clinicians and managers within the MHS. Provide expert, technical, practical and educational knowledge in order to implement the ISLHD Clinical Governance Framework and MHS clinical safety goals. Attend accreditation events within each ACHS contract across the District to support the review of standards relevant to the Patient Safety portfolio.
