We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead a high-performing payroll function through both business-as-usual operations and significant transformation. Reporting directly to the Head of Payroll, this is a pivotal leadership role where you will shape payroll strategy, ensure compliance in a highly regulated environment, and deliver a seamless employee experience across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of payroll professionals.
* Oversee accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end payroll processing.
* Ensure compliance with taxation, superannuation, and legislative requirements.
* Act as the primary contact for internal and external audits.
* Partner with Finance, HR, IT, and senior leadership to deliver payroll excellence.
* Lead payroll transformation initiatives, including system upgrades and HRIS implementations.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and risk mitigation.
* Provide strategic payroll advice and insights at executive level.
About You
* At least 5+ years in a senior payroll leadership role.
* Strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation.
* Proven experience in payroll governance, risk management, and audit compliance.
* Hands-on experience with Chris21 and Workday payroll and HRIS environments.
* Demonstrated success leading payroll system implementations or major transformations.
* Ability to balance strategic leadership with operational delivery.
* Strong people leadership, coaching, and team development capability.
* Experience in large, complex, or highly regulated organisations.
