**The opportunity**
We are seeking an Assistant Manager or Manager Sustainability to join the Climate Change and Sustainability Services team in Perth, Western Australia. We are looking for motivated sustainability professionals with broad experience in strategy, communications, ESG, risk and opportunity, reporting and program execution.
The EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services team has recently been recognised by Verdantix as the global leader in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) consulting. Our Oceania business comprises a multidisciplinary team of more than 200 passionate professionals providing support and advice to clients across all market sectors. We are the leading sustainability consulting practice in Oceania, and work across the full spectrum of sustainability and climate change issues, including strategy, social impact, climate risk and decarbonisation, work health and safety, human rights, circularity and nature through advisory and assurance engagements. We have a strong focus on the technical development of our teams, and developing the next generation of sustainability professionals.

**Your key responsibilities**
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support organisations in designing and implementing sustainability strategies, managing sustainability-related risk and opportunity, and communicating their sustainability pathway and performance
- Contribute to the design, development and rollout of strategies, solutions, methodologies, analytical frameworks and tools that help clients navigate complex sustainability challenges, scientific scenarios, stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements
- Assist clients in the assessment of enhanced performance and programs across a range of sustainability impact areas including human rights, nature and biodiversity, waste and circularity, modern slavery, and diversity and inclusion
- Build trusting relationships with new and existing EY clients and leverage relationships to generate business opportunities

**To qualify for the role you have**:
- Tertiary qualification, such as sustainability, environmental management, social science, law, political science, economics or international relations
- Experience in sustainability and/or climate change services (either in professional services, industry or government)
- Agility to learn and adapt on the job, ask the right questions and strive for the best solutions for clients
- Demonstrable experience and passion to make a difference in sustainable development with a focus on business and government
- Ability to think laterally and adapt previous experience and solutions to new projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team and environment
- Strong technical analytical skills
- Outstanding project and time management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
**Ideally, you'll also have**:
- Professional services/consulting experience
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice as well as a good understanding of sustainability standards
- Knowledge of, and experience in preparing sustainability reports and strategies, such as undertaking materiality assessments, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement activities and preparation of internal and external reporting
