Health & Safety - Systems & Innovation Manager
Reporting to: Group Director of Health & Safety
We are more than just a construction company; we are leaders in our field. For over four decades, our integrated expertise has enabled us to deliver projects that help people live, work, and connect. Through innovation and a strong commitment to shaping Australia, we create infrastructure that stands the test of time.
The Opportunity
We are moving beyond the era of paper checklists and reactive safety. We are looking for a Health and Safety - Systems & Innovation Manager who can take our digital vision and make it work on a live, high‐pressure construction site.
This is a \"boots‐on‐the‐ground\" technology role. You aren't just managing a database; you are building the digital backbone of our safety culture. You will be responsible for finding, testing, and rolling out the next generation of safety tech—from AI‐driven site monitoring to automated risk reporting—ensuring our teams spend less time on paperwork and more time on safe delivery.
What You'll Do
Digital Transformation: Take our high‐level safety strategy and turn it into working tools. You'll be the lead on deploying AI, Computer Vision, and smart‐site tech that actually makes a difference to a site crew.
System Design & Implementation: Own our HSEQ software ecosystem. You will customise these platforms to fit our specific project needs and ensure they are simple enough for every subcontractor to use.
Tech Risk & Data Governance: Act as the gatekeeper for new technology. You'll ensure any new software we use is secure, protects worker privacy, and meets strict industry data standards (ISO/NIST).
Fixing the Workflow: You won't just \"digitize\" a slow process. You will strip back our current safety workflows, simplify them, and then use automation to make them faster and more accurate.
Predictive Analytics: Move us from \"what happened\" to \"what might happen.\" You will build dashboards that use site data to highlight high‐risk trends before they lead to an incident.
Stakeholder Bridge: You will be the \"translator\" between the IT department, the Legal team, and the Project Managers on‐site to ensure our tech solutions are practical and compliant.
What You'll Bring
The Hybrid Edge: A background that blends HSEQ experience with a deep understanding of Digital Transformation or Product Management. You know what a safe site looks like, and you know how to build the tech to support it.
Tech Delivery: A track record of taking a piece of software from a \"good idea\" to a \"site‐wide rollout.\" You understand how to troubleshoot tech in a dusty, fast‐moving environment.
Risk Intelligence: You understand Technology Risk. You know how to vet a vendor and ensure our digital tools don't create new risks for the business.
Leadership & Grit: You are as comfortable presenting a business case to the Board (SteerCo) as you are walking a site with a Foreman to show them how a new app works.
Education: A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, OHS, or a related field.
Why Join Us?
A Real Mandate: You will have the authority and the budget to actually change how we work.
Complex Challenges: Work on some of the largest infrastructure projects in Australia.
