Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.
Hawkesbury District Hospital is seeking 2nd‑year (1st‑semester) undergraduate student nurses to join our general casual pool. This role offers flexible work across a 7‑day rotating roster. As the Assistants in Nursing (AIN), you will play an integral role in supporting the nursing team within a fast-paced acute care environment, working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife. In this role, you will deliver high-quality direct patient care in accordance with established care plans, assist Registered Nurses, Midwives and Enrolled Nurses with delegated clinical interventions within your scope of practice, contribute to the accurate collection and documentation of patient information, and maintain clear, compassionate communication with patients and multidisciplinary team members in line with organisational protocols. * Currently enrolled at university as a 2nd year undergraduate student nurse 1st semester
* Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.
* Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide a person centred approach to patient care
* Demonstrated effective communication skills - written and verbal
* Previous experience working in an acute care setting
* Ability to work a flexible roster
* Demonstrated evidence of complying with Immunisation Category A
