About the Role
Based at Bapcor’s Tullamarine Distribution Centre, the Health Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner provides proactive advice and support to business, ensuring alignment with the Group approach to meeting obligations and maturing the Bapcor culture of keeping each other safe and well. This is a hands-on role and an opportunity to own the space and make a difference. You will be both strategic and tactical by nature, with the ability to uplift capability, drive proactivity and a best practice approach to Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
The key elements to the role are Health & Safety, Wellbeing, Injury Management & Rehabilitation, Reporting and Training & Development.
Key responsibilities include:
* Role model a culture of safety maturity through effective risk management and consultation regarding all health and safety matters.
* Undertake site visits to coach, consult and conduct risk assessments, hazard inspections, reporting back to the business on specific outcomes, common findings and recommended corrective actions.
* Provide advice and coaching to people leaders on matters relating to safe work practices, legislative compliance and activities to mature safety culture
* Provide coaching in regard to investigations and corrective actions, taking the lead on investigating serious or complex matters
* Champion initiatives that continue to mature culture and heighten team member and people leader’s knowledge and capability in managing health and safety matters
* Contribute to the ongoing development and deployment of the Bapcor HSW programs
* Support the Injury Management Advisor to implement early intervention, injury management and return to work by ensuring managers are utilising these programs
* Coach team members and people leaders to embrace a culture of reporting ensuring that all incidents, hazards and near misses are reported and provide assistance in identifying robust actions.
About You
* Relevant tertiary qualification (Cert IV at a minimum) in Human Resources,
* Significant experience in a HSW role, focused on maturing capability.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, return to work programmes and best practice.
* Experienced in supporting change across diverse multi-site/businesses.
* Highly developed consultation and negotiation skills.
* Sound customer focus, relationship management and influencing skills.
* A collaborative approach and, effective communication skills.
