About The Role
As the Courier Department Coordinator you will oversee the daily operations of our courier team, be responsible for tasks which contribute to the collection and delivery of pathology specimens from a wide range of collection sites, clinics and hospitals. Your leadership will ensure compliance and quality standards that underpin our high level of patient service delivery and laboratory efficiency.
Day to Day duties include:
· Promote and display our company values at all times
· Lead, supervise and schedule courier staff to ensure timely specimen pickup and delivery
· Oversee and contribute to training in specimen handling, biohazard transport, and WHS protocols
· Monitor and optimise routes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness and reliability
· Oversee vehicle maintenance, documentation, and compliance within transport regulations
· Liaise with collection centres, laboratories and management to investigate and resolve issues
· Maintain accurate logs and reports for specimen transport and incident tracking
· Promote a culture of safety, accountability and service excellence within the team
· Assist with recruitment & supervision of staff where applicable
Applicants should possess the following:
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· Flexibility with hours of work (early mornings, evenings, weekends etc) including participation on a rotational on call roster
· Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
· Excellent organisational and problem solving abilities
· You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
