About College:

St Andrew's College is a co-residential college within the University of Sydney with a population of 350 male and female undergraduates, resident Fellows and graduate residents.

The Education Department at St Andrew’s College is responsible for providing various educational opportunities to college members. Its programs include the subject tutorial and language program, academic support program and academic skills workshops, as well as short courses and professional development activities.

About the role:

We are seeking an Education Officer to join our team on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract.

Key responsibilities include:

Administration of the Academic Program

Support the Senior Tutor to deliver the College's educational programs including the Tutorial Program, Academic Support Program, Language Program and Faculty Events.

* Perform admin duties such as scheduling tutorials and workshops, create the tutorial timetable and manage the tutorial enrolment process.

* Respond to student enquiries about the educational programs.

* Track and report student participation, attendance and feedback.

Administration of the Professional Development Program

Support the Director of Education to deliver the College's educational and professional development program including Short Courses, Guest Lectures, Visiting Fellows, Mentoring Program, Internships and Skills Workshops.

* Provide admin support including booking venues, liaising with events personnel and managing the enrolment process.

* Track and report student participation, attendance and feedback.

* Produce reports on the progress of the program as required.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities

* Event Management for Education Department events.

* Maintain and update the database.

* Attend some after-hours College events e.g. Tutor dinner, Gala Concerts and Annual Lectures.

Selection Criteria:

* Hold a bachelor’s degree or Certificate IV in administration and relevant experience.

* Have experience working in project management in an education setting (ideally higher education and/or college setting).

* Be proficient in a range of software products (including Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI), capacity to utilise specialist software (such as Coda.io and Canva).

* Enjoy interacting with and supporting young adults (university students) and be willing to become a part of the college community.

* Strong admin skills and attention to detail with previous experience managing diaries and taking minutes.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with personal data.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
