The Bureau of Meteorology is leading a national upgrade to Australia's flood warning portfolio. The Australian Government has invested in a 10-year commitment into the national Flood Warning Infrastructure Network (FWIN) Program, which will upgrade and acquire water level and rain gauges, and associated communications equipment, for high priority catchments. The FWIN Program will improve community access to rain and river level observations and enhance provision of flood forecasts and warnings, supporting disaster preparedness, response and recovery. The Asset Onboarding Coordinator (FWIN) role exists to provide support, quality control and oversee the successful transition of data and metadata connected to sites acquired through FWIN into the Bureau's standard systems for publication of flood data. The Asset Onboarding Coordinator (FWIN) role sits in the Asset Management Program, Data & Digital Group (DDG), assigned to work on the FWIN Program within the Business Services Group (BSG). The Asset Onboarding Coordinator (FWIN) role will be expected to contribute effectively across a diverse range of skillsets including data/metadata management, coordination of internal Bureau activities, documentation control, and communications tools. To be successful in the role, you must be agile and able to adapt to the evolving needs of the program, meet deadlines, marshal broad stakeholder expertise towards common outcomes, and have a meticulous approach to maintaining quality standards. Within this role, there will be flexibility to influence and utilise your expertise to enhance the overall outcomes of the program. This position reports to the Asset Management Solutions Lead, DDG. The key duties of the position include The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: 1. Coordinate the onboarding process for newly acquired and upgraded flood warning assets, including validation of asset data, system integration and documentation where required. 2. Maintain accurate asset records in the Bureau's Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS), ensuring data completeness and compliance with asset standards. 3. Engage with Project management, SMEs, field teams, and delivery partners to gather, verify and reconcile asset data during works and transition to operations. 4. Support configuration and system alignment within EAMS and other Bureau platforms (e.g., EMAS Mobile data acquisition solutions, maintenance planning systems). 5. Assist with process documentation and knowledge capture related to FWIN acquisition and asset integration activities. 6. Promote consistent use of asset management tools and practices, supporting the wider asset management culture across the organisation. 7. Contribute to testing, acquisition, remediation and transition-to-operations processes to ensure continuous improvement and lessons learned are applied. 8. Co-ordinate with stakeholders and contractors to transition asset and maintenance data to the Bureau's asset management database. 9. Provide input into reports, dashboards, and strategic insights related to flood warning infrastructure upgrades and onboarding progress 10.
