Randstad has secured an exclusive mandate with a leading, for a Food Manufacturer in Regional Victoria (North) to recruit a dedicated and experienced QA Manager.

This is a critical, hands‑on leadership role for a QA professional with deep industry experience who thrives in a highly regulated setting. You will be instrumental in upholding our client's rigorous HACCP, export, and animal welfare standards across all operations.

The Role: Leading Quality and Compliance

Reporting to senior management, you will be the on‑site guardian of quality, compliance, and food safety, with a specific focus on the entire process‑from livestock receival through to final product storage.

Core Responsibilities Include:

- Compliance & Verification: Monitor all Critical Control Points (CCPs) as outlined in the HACCP Plan. Conduct independent verification inspections and manage the internal auditing schedule. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Export Control Rules and importing country requirements.
- Livestock & Ante‑Mortem Control: Oversee the procedures for livestock receival, yarding, and traceability (including NVD/Buyer Summaries). Supervise the isolation of suspect animals and ensure correct notification and documentation (Ante‑mortem cards) for special consideration animals.
- Hygiene & Operational Standards: Monitor and enforce high standards of personnel hygiene and correct procedures for handling dropped meat. Ensure the proper handling and disposal of waste products. Monitor the performance and hygiene of all chillers, freezers, and refrigeration units.
- Testing & Documentation: Prepare samples/swabs for microbiological and potable water testing. Oversee the calibration program for all inspection equipment and perform required data logging duties.
- Team & Feedback: Actively participate as a member of the HACCP Team. Provide feedback to staff on deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.

What We’re Looking For

This role requires a seasoned specialist, not just a quality controller. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to enforce strict procedures while providing constructive leadership to staff.

Essential Qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years of dedicated experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role within FMCG (Ideally Meat)
- Expert understanding of HACCP principles and current food safety regulations.
- Demonstrable experience with internal auditing and regulatory compliance (including export requirements).
- Proven ability to oversee animal handling and welfare procedures (Ante‑mortem/Post‑mortem inspections).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to train, lead, and influence operational staff.
