Mechanical Design Engineer
Endless Growth Opportunities
Global Manufacturing Business | Based in Windsor
Temporary engagement with pathway to permanent
Build it. Deliver it. Make sure every detail gets there on time.
If you're someone who enjoys being involved in how engineered products move from planning, to procurement, to installation out in the field, this is the kind of role that lets you be across the entire delivery lifecycle.
Here, you don't just hand over a design and hope it all works out. You're part of the planning, the documentation, the material selection, the coordination, and the connection between what's engineered and what actually shows up on site.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers, project managers and delivery partners, supporting projects from their earliest planning stages all the way through to installation and client handover.
About The Opportunity
This is a role that sits right at the centre of project execution.
You'll be preparing project documentation, reviewing drawings, selecting equipment and assisting with the preparation of Bills of Materials. You'll become familiar with project contracts, understand what needs to be delivered, and help make sure every element is lined up before anything heads into delivery.
Your days will move between gathering technical information, supporting project managers, liaising with design teams, issuing purchase specifications, analysing quotes, and preparing requisitions.
And because this work reaches into installation, you'll also be involved in supporting site activity and, where required, supervising installation on location.
You'll be the person who helps keep projects moving, communicating with clients regarding delivery, preparing data for progress reviews, and supporting both local teams and global project stakeholders throughout execution.
It's detailed, varied, and hands-on. The kind of work where planning meets delivery, and where the paperwork actually means something in the field.
About You
You're early in your engineering career, with a mechanical foundation and a genuine interest in how engineered products move into real-world operation.
You're comfortable reviewing drawings, talking through technical requirements, supporting procurement decisions, and learning how project documentation feeds into delivery outcomes.
You don't mind being involved in compliance, OHS requirements, or quality frameworks, and you like understanding how these connect to installation and commissioning in practice.
You're organised, curious, and happy to coordinate between multiple moving parts, from clients and suppliers through to internal engineers, designers, and project managers.
You think ahead, communicate clearly, and enjoy being someone the team can rely on to help keep deliveries on track. Bonus points if you've got experience with Autodesk Inventor.
About The Business
This organisation delivers engineered water treatment products into major infrastructure and industrial projects, working closely with global engineering and project delivery teams to support customers across Australia, New Zea land, and the broader region.
Design, planning, and installation are closely connected here, giving project engineers direct exposure to project documentation, procurement, installation delivery, O&M preparation, and compliance frameworks that shape how projects are executed on the ground.
You'll become familiar with project contracts, internal quality systems, safety policies, and delivery standards, and you'll support the practical execution of all of these across varying scales of water infrastructure projects.
You'll also have exposure to local and international project teams, gaining experience across planning, installation support, and commissioned outcomes in the field.
It's structured, technically grounded, and a genuinely valuable springboard for someone wanting to grow a career in project delivery.
