About the role
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this operational leadership role is pivotal in developing and implementing a robust safety management system, partnering with senior leaders, and ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational standards. You'll be the go-to expert for all things national organisation: leading audits, shaping policy, and coaching leaders to build safety capability and confidence.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Lead the implementation of a national Workplace Health and Safety strategy that empowers leaders to own safety outcomes and build high-performing safety-first teams
Be the trusted voice at the leadership table, and collaborate cross-functionally to embed Workplace Health and Safety into broader organisational initiatives
Champion risk reduction through audits, training, and crisis readiness, ensuring our sites meets safety expectations.
Analyse data and trends to identify areas for improvement and influence strategic decision-making.
Champion mental health and wellbeing initiatives, fostering a culture of care and accountability.
Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:
Proven experience in Workplace Health and Safety Advisory or Business Partnering roles
Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation, ISO *****, and risk management frameworks
Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills
Ability to interpret safety data to inform strategic decisions
Relevant tertiary qualification in Degree in Work Health and Safety, Human Resources, Employment Law or a related discipline
National travel is required to support our teams across Australia.
