Morley Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Career Practitioner.
As the Career Practitioner, you will join a dynamic team of educators and work closely with the Program Coordinator – VET and the school leadership body to embed and deliver career development activities within curricular and co-curricular programs. You will be an energetic innovator, with the proven ability to work collaboratively across the school and implement programs to embed career development across learning areas.
We are looking for a teacher that enjoys working with students to help them imagine and connect with their future career aspirations coupled with a proven ability to make decisions and enact necessary curriculum reform as appropriate. As a teacher in this specialist position, you will also need to be competent in the interpretation and analysis of system and school-based data.
To be competitive for this role, a high level of knowledge about the diversity of career pathways, with an understanding of school contexts in relation to local employers, community agencies, universities, and training providers is highly desirable. Career Practitioners are also expected to have strong communication skills and be able to liaise with and share information easily with students, staff, parents, training providers, employers, and industry. It is a requirement the successful applicant will already hold the Graduate Certificate in Career Development.
