Overseas on the ground presence includes Virginia (USA), Denmark, Germany and Dubai, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.About the roleDroneShield is seeking a Jr. Hardware Test Engineer with relevant experience to join the team in Sydney, NSW.The position will report to the Design Engineering Lead.This role will be responsible for the informal and formal mechanical testing of DroneShield prototypes and production units as well as managing compliance testing with external parties. This will include the writing of test plans and recording of results.Responsibilities, Duties and ExpectationsConsult with stakeholders to understand testing requirementsPrepare detailed test plans, reports to be viewed by company stakeholdersDevelop in-house testing rigs and set up test equipmentConduct mechanical verification testing in houseCoordinate with external parties for product certification and mechanical testing not possible within DroneShieldUnderstanding and application of mechanical engineering principles and mechanical test standardsCommunicate detailed findings with product development team and suggest product improvementsQualifications, Experience and SkillsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, similar technical field of studyExperience in writing test plans and recording resultsSound understanding of product development and testing for high volume manufactureExperience is setting up test equipment and sourcing test equipment from suppliersExperience in conducting common mechanical tests such as temperature, vibration, shock and ingress protectionExperience taking products through formal mechanical testing and certification and engaging with test housesSolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation experience favourableThis position would suit a graduateNote for recruitment agencies: we do not accept floated candidates from external recruiters unless they were instructed to do so.
