Compensation: Total remuneration package valued up to $182,461. Base salary ranges from $101,122 to $160,983, with leave loading and employer's superannuation contributions. Salary levels above the minimum are available based on experience. The position is salaried under the Teachers award.
Role Overview
As a school counsellor at Ballina Coast High School, you will provide counselling and psychological assessment to support student learning and wellbeing. You will collaborate with teachers, students, families, and external agencies to enhance mental health outcomes. The role includes individual and group supervision, professional development, and participation in the district school counselling team.
Responsibilities
* Provide evidence‐based counselling interventions for primary and high school students.
* Conduct psychological assessments, case formulation, and report writing.
* Collaborate with teachers, families, and external services to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.
* Participate in professional supervision and peer supervision sessions.
* Support student and family inquiries related to mental health and learning needs.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
* Registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Experience using evidence‐based counselling interventions for children and young people.
* Experience in psychological assessment, case formulation and report writing.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes for diverse students.
* Clear eligibility to teach under the NSW Department of Education, or willingness to commence the approval to teach process.
* Valid unrestricted provisional or full driver's licence and willingness to travel between worksites.
Applicants must provide WWCC clearance number (NSW).
