About the Role As our new Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant, you'll be part of a close-knit team where your contributions truly make a difference. This role covers everything from managing the accounts, handling general admin tasks, and supporting our shift towards more digital processes. You'll have the opportunity to make the role your own by suggesting improvements, streamlining workflows, and ensuring everything runs efficiently. What You'll Be Doing
* Manage general bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
* Use Xero and spreadsheets to keep financial records accurate and up-to-date.
* Handle day‑to‑day office admin: emails, filing, database updates, and document organisation.
* Contribute to our digital transformation by helping streamline workflows and moving manual processes to digital systems.
* Be a reliable backup to other team members, covering for leave and supporting where needed.
* Ensure the office runs smoothly and stays organised, helping keep the team on track.
What We're Looking For
* Bookkeeping experience (Xero experience).
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* A proactive, solution‑focused approach—someone who enjoys finding better ways of doing things.
* Ability to work independently and take initiative, but also collaborate with the team when needed.
* Good communicator, reliable, and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
* Comfortable with learning new systems as we transition to digital tools.
* Civil construction industry experience is a plus, but not required—we're happy to teach you
