About the work unit / facility 
The Children's Ward at Townsville University Hospital is part of the Women's and Children's Service Group, delivering specialised paediatric care to families across North Queensland. The team is committed to culturally safe, family-centred care and works closely with Indigenous Health Services to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.

Competitive salary and advantages
- Salary between $3777.60 – $4453.50 per fortnight (HWF4).
- 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

About your opportunity 
As the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker (Identified), you will play a vital role in supporting children and families during hospital stays and outpatient visits. You will provide culturally safe care, health education, and advocacy, while collaborating with clinical teams to improve health outcomes and support discharge planning. 
Requirements
- Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health.
- Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
- Current C class driver's licence (manual and automatic).
- Evidence of vaccination or immunity to VPDs as per Queensland Health Policy.
- A probationary period may apply.
