Job Summary
The Locomotive Operations Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of locomotives in a terminal yard setting. This includes planning and coordinating yard shunting operations, performing routine maintenance tasks, and providing critical information to the terminal leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and coordinate daily yard shunting operations to meet productivity and safety goals
* Perform routine maintenance tasks on locomotives to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime
* Collect and analyze data on train integrity and examination to identify trends and areas for improvement
* Provide critical information to the terminal leadership team to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and improve overall terminal performance
Requirements
* Certification as a Terminal Train Driver (Freight)
* Current unrestricted Class C driver's license
* Strong commitment to safety and proven ability to apply safety management principles
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Able to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities
