Join a role that truly matters As Payroll Officer, you will be the backbone of our payroll operations - managing end-to-end processing with precision and care. From ensuring every pay run is accurate and compliant with legislation to maintaining pay rates and employment conditions, you will deliver reliable support to managers and staff. Working closely with HR and Finance, you will help keep everything running smoothly, safeguard data integrity, and contribute to process improvements that make a real impact.
Reporting to the Finance Manager (with a dotted line to the Director of Human Resources), this position plays a critical role in maintaining data integrity, delivering accurate reporting, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements
The successful applicant must have proven experience in a similar Payroll position along with the following attributes:
* Proven experience with end-to-end payroll processing for monthly, fortnightly, and off-cycle pay runs, including tax and superannuation contributions.
* Experience with Aurion Payroll software or competent utilisation of other similar payroll software is preferred. Demonstrated computer proficiency - intermediate level Excel.
* Maintain accurate employee records, including new starters, terminations, and variations.
* Calculating leave including long service, parental, annual, workers' compensation and personal.
* Prepare PAYG summaries, termination calculations, and leave arrangements.
* Generate payroll reports to support budgeting, workforce planning, and compliance requirements.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations (ATO, VIT, AISV) and School policies.
* Contribute to system improvements and process efficiencies.
* Handle payroll queries promptly and professionally.
* Strong attention to detail, analytical, well organised and able to work in a team environment.Support WorkCover claims and monitor leave accruals and entitlements.
