We require a First Nations Education Assistant to work closely with our students, families, and staff to provide support and guidance in achieving these goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing strong relationships with students and providing ongoing support in classes.
* Providing knowledge and understanding of First Nations history, language, and culture to students.
* Assisting in the creation and adaptation of classroom materials for use by students.
* Actively encouraging and assisting students to take ownership of their learning and organisation.
* Accompanying and, if required, transporting students on excursions or work placement.
* Being a role model of our values and promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* Supporting the development of faith and Catholic identity among students.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships based on mutual respect with students, families, and peers.
Requirements
We require previous experience in a similar role, a current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, and a current Working with Children Registration. Tertiary qualifications in School-Based Education Support or equivalent are highly desirable.
