**The company**
Launch is excited to be working with a leading Victorian Government organisation. We are looking for a passionate GIS Officer to contribute to the development of contemporary policy framework.
**The Role**
The GIS Officer will be responsible for the preparation of reports and plans that contribute to strategic policy. The role will assist with providing clear policy advice across government and within the department.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provide high quality advice to support the delivery of key projects and outcomes, including the preparation of government submissions, business cases and reports, responses to issues papers and implementation plans
- Develop and contribute to high quality briefings, meeting papers and presentations and correspondence, consistent with key policy objectives for a range of audiences
- Support the identification of emerging, complex or highly sensitive issues, risks and trends impacting the successful achievement of objectives and priorities and develop solutions
- Communicate, negotiate and build solid relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve required outcomes
- Undertake spatial data automation and analysis, automated spatial data processing and general programming
**About You**
To be successful you will need:
- Intermediate to advanced capability in automated spatial data processing and general programming, including understanding of spatial algorithms and data structures behind GIS software tools
- Experience in using, manipulating and querying data held in spatial and non-spatial databases is mandatory
- Government work experience in a similar role
- Strong stakeholder management skills
