About the role
We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor/Capenter to join our team at Sienna Built', a Residential construction company, on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site construction activities on Residential Housing Projects in Gladstone, Queensland. As a Site Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful and timely delivery of our construction projects, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
What you'll be doing
1. Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, including managing a team of tradespeople and subcontractors
2. Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines, and identify and resolve any issues that may arise
3. Manage the allocation of resources, materials, and equipment to optimise productivity and efficiency
4. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
5. Monitor and report on project progress, quality, and budget to senior management
6. Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
7. Provide mentorship and training to junior staff to support their professional development
What we're looking for
1. Experience as a Site Supervisor or in a similar construction management role such as leading hand Carpenter
2. Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes, with a strong understanding of the construction industry
3. Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
5. Proficient in the use of construction management software and tools
6. Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in Construction Management or a related field, are highly desirable
7. Current construction industry certifications, including a valid driver's licensee and White Card, are required
8. The successful will be required to perform carpentry fit out including windows, architraves, doors, skirting and door furniture as part of his or her duties and will be expected to provide and maintain their own tools as part of the role.
