The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for, and implements the decisions of, the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all students studying the Western Australian curriculum to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
The School Curriculum and Standards Division (SCS) is seeking to establish a pool of Principal Consultants, Secondary – Curriculum and Assessment – International for the Authority’s international education program (IEP).
The Authority has been licensing overseas school to implement the Western Australian curriculum under its IEP for more than 36 years. The Authority is undertaking a phased expansion of its IEP in accordance with the State’s international education strategy. Since commencing the expansion of its IEP in 2019, the Authority has grown this program from 11 schools located in six countries including Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam to 51 schools located in 16 countries. These countries include Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Indonesia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Türkiye and Vietnam.
The Authority is seeking to appoint staff with Western Australian Years 7 to 12 curriculum expertise to fulfill responsibilities within the following disciplines (subject areas):
3. Mathematics
4. Biology
5. Human Biology
6. Psychology
7. English as an Additional Language or Dialect
8. English
9. Economics
It is desirable that candidates possess expertise in more than one discipline.

10. Demonstrated high-level knowledge of curriculum and assessment in the context of the Outline, the WACE, ATAR course examinations, performance monitoring and review.
11. Demonstrated high-order conceptual and analytical skills.
12. Demonstrated substantial project and program management skills, including the ability to implement processes to facilitate monitoring, reporting and successful delivery and objectives in a timely manner.
13. Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in undertaking consultation, stakeholder engagement, collaboration and negotiation.
14. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership.
