ELTHAM College is seeking a fluent Chinese Language Assistant for a casual position with availability to work 3–4 hours per day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during Term 2 and Term 3.

This role involves working collaboratively with the LOTE Coordinator and classroom teachers to support students.
The language studied is the modern standard/official version of Chinese.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Support students preparing for VCE oral examinations, focusing on pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and confidence.
2. Conduct conversation practice sessions, simulating exam conditions and providing constructive feedback.
3. Assist in transforming language learning by incorporating engaging teaching methods such as songs, games, role-playing, and interactive activities.
4. Work closely with VCE and VET language teachers to align activities with curriculum objectives and assessment criteria.
5. Monitor students' progress and provide individualised feedback to enhance their speaking skills.
6. Stay updated with VCE examination requirements and best practices in language instruction.

6. Clearance to work with children - WWCC.
7. Entitlement to live and work in Australia.
