Support Worker – Auslan Required

About the Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker with basic Auslan skills to support NDIS participants in the Toowoomba/Darling Downs area. This role involves providing person-centred support in the home and community, with a strong focus on effective communication and independence.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands Deaf culture and is able to communicate with basic Australian Sign Language (Auslan).
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-on-one support in line with NDIS care plans
* Communicate clearly and confidently using Auslan
* Assist with daily living tasks, meal preparation and driving clients
* Support community access, appointments, and social activities
* Complete shift notes at the end of every shift
* Promote choice, dignity, and independence
Essential Requirements
* Basic ability to communicate with clients using Auslan (essential)
* Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
* Valid Driver’s Licence and use of a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
* Full Australian working rights
Desirable
* Experience supporting the Deaf or hard-of-hearing
* Understanding of Deaf culture
* Experience working with NDIS participants
* Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
