Log Loader/Yard Person, Timber Industry – Clarence Valley, NSW
Established in 1952, our client has been supplying high-quality Australian hardwood from their Grafton-based mill for over 65 years. They offer structural timber, timber flooring, parquetry, decking, wall cladding and native hardwood products, all sourced from responsibly managed forests.
Why The Clarence Valley?
The valley's main town, historic Grafton (founded 1851) sits on the banks of the Clarence River, Australia's largest east-coast river system. It's a lush landscape for 1,700 jacaranda trees along broad avenues, inspiring the country's oldest floral fete, the Jacaranda Festival, held each year in late October/early November.

Our Client, a locally and family-owned business, is on the hunt for an enthusiastic and motivated Yard Person with experience and knowledge of the Timber Industry to join their team of long-serving employees. On Offer:
* Pay reviews are fair and often above-award.
* Your roster suits many lifestyles, with a 7:30am commencement each day and an early finish on Fridays (38 hours per week).
* Initial 6‐month casual contract through Complete Staff Solutions, with the potential for ongoing and permanent work for the right candidate (dependent on performance and suitability).
* Ability to negotiate a suited and fair salary, on interview.
Responsibilities
* Operate machinery to assist in the loading and unloading of logs.
* Operate forklift and chainsaw equipment as needed.
* Process logs with the assistance of a broader team.
* Cover a 360° model of the manufacturing plant, learning a variety of positions and tasks.
* Perform log grab operations.
Qualifications
* Experienced in sawmilling and knowledge of the timber industry is highly advantageous.
* Prior experience operating a forklift and chainsaw is required if licensed and experienced.
* Ability to pass pre‐employment onboarding checks, including but not limited to, two reference checks, pre‐employment medical, drug and alcohol test.
* Drivers' licence.
* Exceptional teamwork attitude and demonstrated ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
