This is permanent part time role 0.6 FTE (45.6 hours per fortnight) hours and days can be negotiated.

The Opportunity

As our organisation enters a pivotal stage of growth, we are seeking an experienced Manager People and Culture to provide strategic and operational leadership across the full spectrum of human resources functions. As the most senior human resources professional in the organisation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping workforce strategy, strengthening organisational capability, and ensuring compliance with relevant industrial instruments.

This is a hands-on generalist role with significant influence, advising the CEO and Leadership Team on workforce planning, risk management, and organisational development, while driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement human resources strategies, policies, and frameworks aligned with organisational priorities.

Provide high-level advice to the CEO and leadership team on workforce trends, risk mitigation, and culture.

Lead initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, capability, diversity, inclusion, and retention.

Build contemporary recruitment strategies to attract and retain talent in a competitive sector.

Oversee employee relations including grievances, performance management, and conflict resolution.

Manage industrial relations processes including negotiations, consultation, and union engagement.

Ensure compliance with industrial instruments, accreditation requirements, and legislation.

Provide the CEO and Board with workforce insights, metrics, and risk indicators and lead strategic planning around workforce (or similar)

Maintain robust human resources systems and data integrity across the employee lifecycle.

Support incident management, wellbeing initiatives, and return-to-work processes.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Essential:

Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Relations,

Demonstrated experience in a generalist human resources management role, ideally in community services, not-for-profit, or government.

Strong knowledge of Australian industrial relations frameworks and Awards (CASHIA and/or SCHADS preferred).

Proven capability in employee relations, performance management, and human resources risk management.

Experience managing recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning in a multi-site environment.

Understanding of WHS and return-to-work principles.

Highly developed interpersonal, advisory, and influencing skills.

Highly Desirable:

Experience in homelessness, housing, disability, or broader social services.

Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and workforce wellbeing models.

Experience leading a human resources team.
