Operations Manager Corporate — Overview
We are looking for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Operations Manager Corporate who can support our growing Corporate Department. The Operations Manager Corporate will have a diverse role, collaborating with global teams to support company initiatives and proactively manage day-to-day responsibilities while seeking innovative solutions.
Responsibilities & Duties
- With support and input from colleagues in HR, Finance and APAC Management Team, manage the full range of people issues for the assigned team.
- People issues include, but are not limited to: recruitment and selection; onboarding and induction; performance management, including position confirmation meetings and reviews, objective setting, appraisal, performance improvement, identifying outstanding performers, and managing underperforming employees.
- Maintaining high standards of work and supporting salary reviews, bonuses and promotions recommendations.
- Professional and personal development, including identifying training needs and sourcing learning interventions to close gaps; continuous improvement in motivation and employee engagement; managing leavers to maintain service delivery; and timely record keeping on all people issues.
- Build and maintain beneficial working relationships with suppliers and clients; participate in client or supplier meetings, presentations, networking events, site visits and functions with follow-up as necessary.
- Foster a positive team environment with fair workload distribution and effective delegation to fulfil job roles.
- Identify and implement improvements to the functionality of the assigned team within the Corporate department and suggest company-wide best practices.
- Collaborate with Corporate Senior Management to implement and monitor company and departmental objectives and strategy; lead by example and promote professional relationships across TAG groups and departments.
- Monitor bookings and ensure team members utilise TAG systems to their full potential; raise any concerns to the Director of Operations and ensure compliance with divisional and Group policies and procedures.
- Focus on increasing profit margins for the assigned territory; work with Corporate Team Leads to maximise productivity and adherence to TAG policies.
- Adhere to PCI regulations in accordance with Company policy; manage key client accounts as needed; maintain a high standard of office operations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry conditions and act on developments, opportunities or threats accordingly; reinforce attention to detail to minimize errors; run booking checks in GDS systems to maximise potential profit.
- Ensure TAG PSP program is supported by performing checks in TAG desktop and Tramada; monitor incoming client requests to ensure timely and effective responses; promote new business leads to other global offices.
- Strengthen client and supplier relations through regular contact regarding service levels; collaborate with the Commercial Team to seek new potential clients; promote TAG’s growth and development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience within a travel agency
- 2 years of experience in a management capacity (5 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of airfares, contracted fares, ticketing and reissues
- GDS experience (Galileo preferred)
- Experience booking flights and hotels with a solid understanding of published airfares
- Experience handling VIP clients and/or group travel
- Problem-solving abilities and promotion of safe work practices
- Ability to delegate and make effective decisions; excellent listening and communication skills
- Leadership and conflict resolution skills with a desire to lead by example
- Robust knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; adaptability to changing priorities
- Knowledge of labour laws and applicability to day-to-day management
- Excellent project management, organisational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
- Emotional intelligence and resilience; ability to visualise organisational strategy and set clear goals for the team
- Excellent customer service and negotiation skills; proactive and self-starting
