About the Opportunity
The Talent Playbook is recruiting Section Waiters on behalf of a number of premium hospitality clients across Brisbane. These opportunities span a range of dining environments and service expectations, offering experienced waiters the chance to work in venues that genuinely value service, training, and professionalism.
Rather than placing candidates into a single, fixed environment, we work with venues that deliver different styles of dining and guest experience. This allows us to match waiters to venues that suit their strengths, pace, and approach to service.
The Venues & Service Environment
We recruit across a diverse portfolio of premium dining environments, ranging from high-energy, share-style venues where pace, communication, and strong section control are essential, through to refined dining rooms where product knowledge, timing, and quiet confidence shape the guest experience, and into intimate, experience-led settings where service is delivered with precision, restraint, and a deep respect for the guest journey.
Across all environments, service is intentional rather than rushed, standards are clearly defined, and waiters are trusted to read the room, adapt their approach, and deliver an experience that feels polished, confident, and genuinely human.
The Role
As a Section Waiter, you will be responsible for:
* Running your section confidently and professionally
* Delivering service in line with each venue's sequence of service
* Demonstrating strong menu and product knowledge
* Reading tables and adjusting service pace appropriately
* Communicating clearly with kitchen and floor teams
* Maintaining composure and service standards during peak trade
The role requires both efficiency and finesse. While services can be busy, expectations around professionalism and guest care remain consistent.
Training & Support
All venues provide structured training and clear expectations. You can expect:
* Documented sequences of service
* Menu and product training
* Leadership presence during service
* On-floor guidance and coaching
These are not environments where staff are left unsupported. Standards are set clearly, and teams are trained properly.
