Job Title: Director of Communications and Public Relations
About the Role:
This is a dynamic position responsible for developing and executing strategic communications plans to elevate NOVA's visibility and profile.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create innovative strategies to increase NOVA's presence in the community.
* Provide media training and serve as a spokesperson for NOVA.
Duties and Tasks:
1. External Communications: Develop and execute strategic external communications plans to promote NOVA's brand messaging.
2. Executive Communications: Support NOVA's president with writing and editing materials, develop thought leadership programs, and provide strategic communications counsel.
Requirements:
* Proven ability to write and edit copy to conform to Associated Press and NOVA style.
* Ability to write quick, clean, accurate content on tight deadlines.
* High degree of professionalism and experience in supporting and advising senior leaders.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, social media tools, and other communications tools.
Qualifications:
* Experience developing and executing strategic media and/or communications plans.
* Media relations experience, including pitching and timely responding to media.
* Experience supporting top organization leaders with writing and editing services.
Considerations:
* Experience in higher education communications, especially community colleges.
* Experience working in a multi-site organization.
