Frontline Mental Health Clinician in a Fast-Paced ED
Join Metro South Health as a Mental Health Emergency Department Clinician (HP3) at Redland Hospital. In this permanent full-time role, you'll deliver timely, evidence-based mental health assessments and interventions for consumers presenting in crisis, while working closely within a multidisciplinary emergency department team.
About This Role
As a Mental Health Emergency Department Clinician, you will provide high-quality assessment, intervention and care coordination for consumers presenting to the Emergency Department with acute mental health needs. Working within an interprofessional team, you'll apply clinical judgement, therapeutic skills and recovery-oriented practice to support safe, patient-centred outcomes in a dynamic 24/7 environment.
Key Responsibilities Include
* Delivering comprehensive mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions
* Supporting discharge planning and care coordination within an interprofessional team
* Managing a clinical caseload with effective prioritisation and time management
* Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and service activity reporting
About You
You're a motivated and capable allied health professional who performs strongly under pressure and values collaborative, person-centred care. You bring sound clinical skills, strong communication and a genuine commitment to mental health service delivery in emergency settings.
You Will Bring
* Eligibility for registration or membership as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker
* Demonstrated experience or emerging capability in mental health assessment and intervention
* Strong communication and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary environments
* The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting
* A commitment to ongoing learning, supervision and professional development
