Job Description
We are now seeking aconfident, enthusiastic Safety Officerwho shares our values ofThink Sharp, Dig In and Careto join our high-performing team.
Reporting to the Safety Coordinator, you will provide technical safety expertise and support the implementation and delivery of continuous safety improvement initiatives across site.
About the Role
Work closely with operational leaders to provide technical safety advice and drive improved safety performance across HVO
Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging with site personnel, encouraging safety awareness and supporting safety initiatives
Provide coaching and guidance on site-based safety procedures and systems
Participate in incident investigations and Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging with site personnel, encouraging safety awareness and supporting safety initiatives
Participate in the risk management processes across HVO
Analyse safety data, identify trends and prepare department specific safety performance reports
Conduct and support site assurance and verification activities

Monday to Friday professional roster
Site-based at HVO (off Lemington Road)
About You
Qualifications in Work, Health and Safety;
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
High emotional intelligence and the ability to build effective working relationships
Strong computer literacy
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads, projects and conflicting priorities to achieve competing deadlines
A genuine passion for safety and delivering results
A positive, authentic approach with the ability to influence and inspire others
