Duties and responsibilities
* Cooking, baking, and grilling of meats and vegetables following proper recipes.
* Assisting the head chef in daily food operations.
* Examining food and products to ensure they are of the highest quality.
* Cooking food as per dietary requirements of patrons such as food allergies.
* Receiving and storing stock in a clean place and temperature-controlled facility.
* Demonstrating safe work practices and adhering to workplace health and safety regulations by cleaning and tidying the restaurant and kitchen.
* Checking ingredients used for cooking are in accordance with recipe guidelines and are of good quality.
* Washing, cutting, and peeling of ingredients including vegetables and meats for preparing cuisines.
* Organizing cooked meals in platters with good presentation and right proportion.
* Using proper knife handling techniques and cutting techniques for fruit, vegetables, and meats appropriate to the style of cuisine.
* Assisting chefs in planning and designing menus.
* Performing other activities such as training kitchen staffs.
* Seasoning, marinating, roasting, and baking food as per recipes.
* Stirring and mixing for making various sauces for marinating and preparing different dishes.
Qualifications and experience
* A Certificate IV in a relevant field is required.
* The candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in a busy restaurant.
* Friendly, positive, and approachable attitude.
* To be energetic and motivated.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000 per annum plus superannuation
