This is a senior leadership appointment, peer to the Director of Operations, responsible for the commercial performance across three entities, bridging manufacturing, sales, and distribution, and unifying diverse teams under a shared strategic vision.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager - Pacific, the Director of Retail Partnerships & Sales will own and lead the national retail strategy, driving growth, profitability, and partnership excellence across Gallagher's reseller network, spanning both corporate retailers (40%) and independent buying groups (60%).
This role requires a strategic, commercially savvy leader who can operate at both a high-level and hands-on, with a strong presence in the field and deep understanding of retail execution in rural markets.
Key accountabilities include:
* Lead Gallagher's national retail channel strategy and manage complex retail portfolios with full P&L accountability.
* Build strong, long-term reseller partnerships, focusing on value over price.
* Oversee 21 Territory Managers to ensure consistent, best-in-class retail execution across Australia.
* Align commercial, operational, and sales teams to drive results and maintain strong retail standards.
* Split your time between the office and the field (approx. 75%/25%), attending key account meetings, conferences, and major retailer visits.
* Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse national team, fostering collaboration and a strong, inclusive culture.
Gallagher has invested significantly in rebuilding culture, breaking down silos, and creating a more unified organisation, this role is critical to continuing that momentum.
About You
You will be an experienced senior retail leader with demonstrated success in managing national retail channels and large commercial portfolios. You will bring both strategic depth and practical retail execution capability.
* Proven leadership in national retail channel management
* Experience managing large portfolios with P&L responsibility
* Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and partnership management experience
* Ability to lead diverse teams across manufacturing, sales, and distribution environments
* Comfort operating in a family-owned, less corporate structure
* Experience working with both corporate retailers and independent buying groups (e.g., Elders, Ridley or similar)

* Majority of time based in Epping office (office-based with flexibility as required)
* Strategic leadership with Key Account Managers and Area Managers
* Collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams
* Field engagement with key accounts, buying groups, and major independent retailers
* Participation in industry and buying group conferences
* Ongoing alignment with GM - Pacific and senior leadership team
