Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full‑time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high‑quality dishes, maintaining kitchen operations, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and cook menu items in accordance with restaurant standards and customer preferences.
* Assist in the creation and development of new menu items and daily specials.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high‑quality food preparation and presentation.
* Monitor stock levels, order supplies and minimise food wastage and costs.
* Ensure all food handling and hygiene standards are met in accordance with HACCP and workplace safety regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
* Work closely with management to ensure efficient kitchen operations and excellent service delivery.
* Support with rostering, staff supervision, and kitchen workflow during busy service periods.
Skills and Experience Required
* At least 3 years of relevant full‑time experience as a Chef (in lieu of formal qualification).
* Strong knowledge of Italian and Mediterranean‑style cuisine is highly desirable.
* Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
