The Solutions Architect team at AWS helps customers successfully implement cloud technologies.
You'll craft highly-scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address customers' business problems and partner with internal teams to leverage AWS tools and products.

This position is for the Public Sector team to build mind share and broad use of AWS cloud services within strategic accounts in the Australian Government community.
The AWS Solutions Architecture team works with the Australian Government and AWS partners on architecting innovative solutions for stakeholders.
Work can be highly sensitive and time critical, focusing on strategic and operational outcomes.

The broad responsibilities include owning the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects and developing deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad knowledge of how applications and services are constructed on the AWS platform.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills to represent Amazon in a customer environment and drive discussions with senior personnel, along with a technical background enabling interaction with software developers and architects.
They should be able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
Candidates must Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.

Key job responsibilities As a Senior Solutions Architect, you'll help customers plan their cloud journey and solve complex technical challenges to enable business focus.
You'll craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures and drive technical solution discussions with customer teams.
Build relationships to understand customers and partners.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to influence stakeholders from technical teams to executives, ensuring short-term technology decisions align with long-term goals and speeding adoption of AWS services.
Lead technical engagements and conversations, diving into details with customer teams to design and implement solutions.
Act as a thought leader by educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers/blogs, and running workshops.
Gather customer feedback and collaborate with engineering and service teams to influence product and service directions.

Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 8+ years of experience in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
7+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
Ability to lead complex technical projects, including coordination with other teams as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive stakeholders or clients.
Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers.
Ability to create proof of concepts, demos, and/or scripts from scratch or using reusable components.
Experience working with Federal government.
Able to present to technical and business audiences (training, workshops, publications).
