About the role:
We are seeking a Payroll Lead to join our Perth or Melbourne office. You will be responsible for leading a small payroll function and providing advice to our People team on payroll process and remuneration practices. In this role you will be responsible for reviewing the Definitiv Payroll System design and rules to ensure all awards are configured correctly, and ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time.
In addition, it would be ideal if you have experience across remuneration benchmarking, minimum wage audits, award compliance and annual remuneration review practices and be passionate about leading our team through these critical activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing a small payroll team for the IS Group globally, with a footprint in Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and the UK
- Designing best-practice payroll practices to support smooth and timely payroll processing
- Coordinating payroll processing with our outsourced payroll provider in the UK
- Reviewing and refining our payroll cut-off and approval processes
- Refining the award and system configuration as needed
- Overseeing and guiding minimum wage, casual conversion and compliance audits
- Developing training content for new starters on how to book leave and update baking details
- Data migration support to onboard current revenue streams into our payroll system
- Supporting other People projects and initiatives across the People function

- Proven experience overseeing an accurate and timely payroll function
- A strong eye for detail
- Previous experience using Access Definitiv payroll (preferred but not essential)
