Job Description
To report to the Clinical Director – Surgical and Perioperative and provide high‑level strategic leadership and direction for anaesthesia services across the North West region.
* Ensure resources are efficiently utilized and services are integrated within hospital and service settings.
* Maintain the highest standards of service delivery in accordance with policy directions, service standards and financial targets.
* Provide specialist medical care to patients attending NWRH, Burnie and Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) and Latrobe.
* Advise the Clinical Director and/or Nursing Director – Operations (NWRH) with authoritative support.

Motivated and experienced Anaesthetics clinicians who can lead within a complex health system and drive improvement at both patient and system levels.
Details of Appointment
Fixed‑term, day worker, with on‑call responsibilities, working 76 hours per fortnight over a period of 3 years (hours may be negotiated).

Salary
Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 – Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3: $216,300 – $310,389 per annum, pro‑rated + 12% superannuation.
Supra‑range allowances and benefits (all calculated on the salaried incremental point) include:
* Management Allowance Clinical Lead – 5% of base salary
* Salary packaging options (e.g., living expenses up to $9,010, and meals & entertainment up to $2,650 per year)
* Motor vehicle allowance of $28,786 per annum, pro‑rated
* Allowance in lieu of private practice schemes – 35%
* North West Retention Allowance – 20%
* Generous relocation assistance and accommodation available
* Study leave and Professional Development Support
* Fitness Passport – access to 40+ fitness facilities; $14.50 per week per person or $28.05 for family
Eligibility
* Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty
* Registration/licences must remain current and valid throughout employment
* Current Driver’s Licence (desirable)
