Find out how this role could work for you.Period of employment / Hours:Fixed term full-time day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) commencing approximately 15 June 2025 for a period of 6 months.Location:Note (**) - Specific work location to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Duties:Primary Purpose / Focus :As a member of the Community Infrastructure Property Maintenance team, the Project Manager - Procurement will be responsible for negotiating favourable purchasing arrangements in line with Treasurers Instructions, for products and materials required in the delivery of Property Maintenance services. This role involves developing and executing contracts and arrangements with external stockists, suppliers and manufacturers realising value for money through economies of scale, robust supply and social benefits such as engagement with Tasmanian businesses and partnerships with social enterprise schemes. This includes:Analysing data to determine high value/high usage products and materials including forecasting future requirementsEvaluation of products and materials that may provide better value for moneyEngaging with other partner organisations such as Community Housing Providers or other Government Departments to maximise any economies of scale benefitsEstablish relationships with stockists and suppliers and mechanisms for reviewIdentify a longer-term procurement strategy that seeks to incorporate access for contractors to preferable purchasing arrangementsDevelopment of operational processes and systems to support procurementMonitoring performance, reporting and identifying improvements.Skills and experience :Selection criteria includes:Demonstrated experience in the Tasmanian Government procurement framework and contract management and negotiation, particularly in an asset-management setting, with a strong track record of handling procurement activities related to property management.Experience in implementing strategies to reduce material costs whilst maintaining high service standards and aligning with broader Homes Tasmania objectives focusing on long-term community, tenant and asset benefits.Proficiency in analysing finance, data and performance tracking with a well-developed ability to interpret and understand information to make informedprocurement decisions, with awareness of the specific needs challenges related to procurement in a government asset-management setting, coupled with understanding of legislation and policy directions.Note : - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for ALL the selection criteria of this position.Current Driver’s Licence,The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
