The Role
We are looking for a motivated and proactive Maintenance Fitter who can work autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance and be able to identify faults and perform breakdown repairs to minimise downtime. If you have a mechanical trade qualification, experience in a fast-paced food and beverage processing environment, and excellent problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify faults and perform breakdown repairs to minimise downtime and micro-stops
* Inspect, test, and maintain machinery and equipment in process and packaging areas
* Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on general plant and building maintenance work
* Install and commission new equipment
* Undertake specific project work, such as building prototypes and refurbishing aging equipment
* Conduct machine/product changeovers
* Prioritise breakdown and PM activities within the weekly schedule
* Perform tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, or their designates
We're looking for someone with:
* Mechanical trade qualification (minimum Certificate III or equivalent)
* Experience in a fast-paced food and beverage processing environment (FMCG)
* Understanding of computerised maintenance management systems
* Site services experience (steam boilers, air compressors, wastewater treatment plants)
* Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and spare parts manuals
* Practical mechanical experience in the usage of hand and power tools
* Welding experience (MAW and TIG welding highly desired)
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Strong communication skills
* Hands-on approach and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Eligibility to work in Australia
Desirable:
* Forklift license
* Confined space entry license
* Work at Heights training
* Experience with automation or robotics
* Computer skills (Microsoft suite, computerised maintenance management system)
