About the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) was formed on 1 January 2019. We work to improve the lives of older people by maintaining the integrity of the aged care system.

About the Team

Enterprise Performance, Assurance and Risk (EPAR): The Enterprise Performance, Assurance and Risk section is responsible for developing, embedding, and refining the Commission’s Performance, Audit and Assurance, and Risk frameworks, policies, and procedures to support the achievement of strategic goals and compliance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). The EPAR section:

- coordinates corporate planning and reporting activities, with a particular focus on the development and delivery of the Commission’s Corporate Plan, Performance Measures and Annual Performance Statements and Annual Report
- promotes a culture of continuous performance improvement and transparent reporting
- ensures the effective identification and management of enterprise risks
- ensures quality assurance
- ensures delivery of appropriate education, training, and communication on key governance, audit and quality assurance and risk matters within its functional remit.

The EPAR team monitors and reports against all related governance accountabilities and statutory compliance obligations at an entity level. It works with relevant business areas to ensure adequate internal controls are in place and any improvement/rectification plans are developed and enacted.

About the Role

The purpose of this position is to support the coordination and reporting of the Commission’s approach to performance, planning and reporting to ensure the monitoring of the Commission’s performance as an organisation. This role plays a key role in supporting the coordination and development of the Commission’s Annual Planning and Reporting Program.

Position Duties

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Performance and Reporting, your main responsibilities will be to:

- Ensuring compliance with key legislative requirements and guidelines regarding the management and development of the Commission’s Corporate Plan and Annual Report.
- Developing a range of supporting materials and guidance tools to promote the knowledge of the Commission’s obligations regarding the Corporate Plan and Annual report with a range of staff who contribute to the content and development of those publications.
- Contributing to the development, maintenance and embedding of the Commission’s Enterprise Performance Framework, Planning and Reporting Framework, associated guidance materials and online content.
- Managing the Commission’s annual planning and reporting schedule.
- Providing subject matter expertise for the development and provision of related education and training to Commission staff.
- Supporting staff who contribute to the content of the Corporate Plan and Annual Report to develop, monitor and submit relevant and accurate information within specified timeframes.
- Acting as a key internal contact for feedback and questions about the Commission’s annual planning and reporting program.
- Contributing to the development and quality assurance of briefings and reports on the status of the Commission’s annual planning and reporting program, as required.

Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria)

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

- Excellent knowledge, or ability to quickly gain and apply such knowledge, of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act).
- Demonstrated project / program management skills, including assisting to deliver a series of high-profile, deadline-driven and multifaceted projects within a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to influence and interact in an effective way and communicate information coherently and concisely to audiences with a range of backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate openly and effectively and to build robust professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and across boundaries together with superior interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work productively within a team in a dynamic environment, encourage innovative ideas, build trust, provide support, and foster a positive and supportive team culture.
- Capacity to work in a busy environment, working with competing priorities and ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload among a team to deliver agreed outcomes.

Position Notes

- Salary offered will be between $96,503 - $108,869 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.

- Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
