Senior Structural Engineer – Buildings Team

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Buildings team in Perth. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering complex building structures from concept through to detailed design and construction support. You’ll work across a varied portfolio including hospitals and health facilities, schools and education campuses, commercial high‑rise developments, and defence facilities, providing practical, safe, compliant and buildable structural solutions.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll:
* Lead design packages and coordinate with architects and multidisciplinary engineers.
* Collaborate closely with offshore delivery teams where required.
* Contribute to design reviews, provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
* Engage directly with clients and stakeholders, helping shape outcomes and supporting proposals and repeat work through excellent client service.
Key Qualifications
* Demonstrated Australian buildings experience delivering structural design on projects such as hospitals, schools, commercial buildings / high‑rise, and/or defence facilities.
* Strong capability designing and documenting building structures in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and the NCC, including:
o AS/NZS 1170 (Structural design actions)
o AS 4100 (Steel structures)
o AS 3600 (Concrete structures)
o AS 3700 (Masonry structures)
o AS 1684 (Timber framing)
o Familiarity with AS/NZS 5131 (structural steelwork fabrication / erection) and typical local construction practices.
* Proven experience or exposure with industry software such as SpaceGass, ETABS, Strand7, RAM Concept, and BIM delivery using Revit / Tekla (or equivalent).
* Ability to lead elements of structural delivery—coordinating packages, managing interfaces, and ensuring quality outcomes on time and to budget.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including producing clear calculations, design reports, and documentation suitable for Australian project delivery and approvals.
* Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
* Confidence working with geographically distributed teams (including offshore support) while maintaining technical governance and design accountability.
* Degree qualifications in Civil / Structural Engineering (CPEng / RPEQ / Chartered status or working toward is highly regarded).

Some roles may require the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance; Australian citizenship may be required for certain projects.
