Cirrus Ag provide toll manufacturing services to the agricultural industry. Our state of the art, purpose-built plant in Rockhampton is the only plant of its kind in Australia. We are searching for reliable, and suitably qualified manufacturing Team Leader who is seeking a full-time role in Rockhampton for a reputable herbicide manufacturing company.
About the Role
The Manufacturing Team Leader supports the daily operations of Cirrus Ag's Rockhampton manufacturing facility.
This role involves overseeing production staff, supporting the production process, coordinating workflow, and ensuring product quality and workplace safety. It is suited to a hands-on leader who brings initiative, a strong work ethic, and attention to detail to a fast-paced industrial environment.
About You
You will be reliable, have a practical approach to tasks, be physically fit, and able to follow instructions. Experience in a manufacturing (operational) environment will be highly regarded, however is not essential. Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for safe production, quality and delivery of products in full and on time and leading the production team in close conjunction with the Production Manager.
Your skillset
· Have a minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
· Have a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement
· Have the ability to work well with a team, be a valued team member and have sound leadership qualities
· Lead by example with your strong worth ethic and attention to detail
· Have previous experience in a warehouse/factory environment
· Be reliable punctual and have a good work ethic
· Be analytical, with sound problem solving skills.
· Hold a current License to Perform High Risk Work (Forklift) or willing to undertake this
· Hold a current Queensland Drivers Licence
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Have the ability to understand and follow operating procedures
· Have the ability and willingness to perform manual lifting using safe lifting technique
· Have experience with operating machines
· Be able to communicate clearly, take and follow directions and be proactive in the workplace
· Have good mechanical and maintenance knowledge.
· Be physically fit
Key responsibilities include:
· Lead daily manufacturing team operations under direction of the Production Manager.
· Assist with production planning, task delegation, and workflow supervision.
· Complete daily and weekly production reporting and logs.
· Oversee stock handling, including picking, packing, and labelling of finished products.
· Perform plant start-up and shutdown operations.
· Identify and resolve production faults and bottlenecks.
· Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the manufacturing and warehouse areas.
· Assist with quality control processes and documentation, including product releases.
· Manage raw material inventory including batch numbers, product life tracking, and usage.
· Create and update production runsheets and amend recipes as necessary.
· Participate in and lead WHS responsibilities, including hazard identification and procedure updates.
· Conduct and record safety assessments and toolbox meetings as required.
· Provide input on procedural improvements and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
· Perform data entry, review production records, and maintain accurate documentation.
· Support maintenance tasks as directed by the Production Manager.
· Collaborate with warehouse staff and the broader operations team to ensure timely dispatch.
· Uphold and lead by example in workplace safety and operational compliance.
Candidates will be required to undertake a criminal record check, a pre-employment medical which may include a drug and alcohol screening test.
