Biosecurity Officer Job Description
* This position plays a key role in supporting the Victorian community with biosecurity preparation and management.
In this role, you will be part of the Plants Chemicals and Invasives Unit within Agriculture Victoria. You will be responsible for monitoring agricultural and veterinary chemical use practices for compliance with relevant acts and regulations.
You will need to recommend appropriate compliance and enforcement actions, including appearing as an expert witness. Additionally, you will provide technical advice on chemical issues to leading biosecurity officers and managers.
Promoting responsible chemical use programs through industry-based initiatives and quality assurance programs is also a crucial aspect of this role. You will assist with maintaining industry market access and provide advice to stakeholders.
This role is designated as a DEECA Authorised Officer with responsibilities under relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
* Tertiary degree in Agricultural Science or equivalent
* Knowledge of Victorian agriculture and horticulture industries and legislation
* Current driver's license
